The Chartered Quality Institute-
Management Consultants Register
In January 2001, the Association
of Quality Management Consultants International (AQMCI) became the
Management Consultants Register (MCR) under the remit of the Institute of
Quality Assurance (IQA). The AQMCI was originally formed in 1986 under a
government initiative to provide a pool of professional quality management
consultants with senior management experience. For 15 years, the AQMCI was
a port of call for the management of government agencies, utilities and
manufacturing and service organisations. In January 2007 following the
grant of a Royal Charter the IQA became the Chartered Quality Institute
(CQI)
Only consultants who have met stringent qualification and experience
criteria, and are willing to work within the MCR code of professional
conduct, will be selected to offer consultancy services.
The Management Consultants Register categorises and grades its consultants
according to their experience. Listed consultants must re-register every
three years and regulated on the basis of continuing professional
development, current practice and a measure of client
satisfaction/dissatisfaction.
Unlike other consultancy registers, the MCR only qualifies and registers
the individual consultants, not consultancy firms.
